York County Libraries Posts Call for Teen Art
Submissions Open Until April 10

YORK, PA – York County Libraries (YCL) is posting a call for art for an upcoming Teen Art Exhibit, May 1-8, at the Martin Library in York. The juried show is open to teen artists, ages 12 – 18, who live in Adams or York County. All work submitted, must be the original art of the entrant, and should reflect this year’s theme of “Building Community and Making Connections.” Mediums can be digital, 2D, 3D or analog art. Digital renderings of original art should be submitted online for consideration by Friday, April 10. Official rules and submission details are available at yorklibraries.org/teen-art-exhibit-2026.
“We are so excited to be bringing back the Teen Art Show for its second year," says York County Libraries Youth Services Director Mindy McDonnell. “Not only does the program give us the opportunity to spotlight some amazing young artists; it also gives the teen participants the chance to explore and express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas about this year's topic, ‘Building Community and Making Connections.’”
The opening reception for the Teen Art Exhibit will be held Friday, May 1 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Martin Library. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded, as well as a viewer’s favorite prize that evening. The public is invited to attend the festivities. The exhibit runs through Friday, May 8 during the regular operating hours.
“Art is such a powerful communicator,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “Providing outlets for creativity like the Teen Art Exhibit help bolster self-expression, self-confidence and community connectivity.”
