Matt Weir – Vice President Operational Excellence and Engineering
Matt has a Chemical Engineering Degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN.  He has spent over 20 years in the Specialty Manufacturing and Chemical industry.  During this time, he has worked in various roles including Process Engineering, Research and Development, Technical Sales, Operations Management and Director of Technical Support.  Matt is the author of several patent and patent applications in the United States and Europe.

• Served as the project lead on various projects involving optimization of slitting and finishing of wide-web substrates into smaller package sizes
• Lead multiple development projects web coating substrates such as papers, films and fabrics, using slot-die, knife over roll, reverse roll and extrusion coating techniques
• Lead a project that involved locating, justifying and purchasing used extrusion-coating equipment to serve as a pilot plant for new product development
• Served as a co-leader of a multimillion-dollar project that involved new product development and capital purchase of equipment to create an extrusion coated product that was subsequently slit and packaged for use directly on the customers’ existing production equipment
• Lead a project that involved specifying, building, installing, and commissioning a large-scale, mechanical and chemical water treatment and purification system in a large hospital.
• Lead a multimillion-dollar project that involved designing, specifying, building, installing, and commissioning a novel production process in a cGMP environment.
• Lead a project that involved moving, reinstalling, and recommissioning the same novel production process and associated equipment to a new facility in a cGMP environment.
• Created a new brand for sales of products via a large online platform, including, product selection, product sourcing, product evaluation, brand content creation, managing advertising and logistics
• Lead company safety process and served as the leader of multiple Corporate Safety Committees
• Oversaw the scale-up of products from laboratory scale to production scale plastic extrusion and lamination equipment
• Implemented process improvements on specialty chemical equipment and coating and converting equipment that have resulted in reduction in overall unit cost of multiple products by 15% or more
• Served in multiple positions as a liaison between manufacturing, research and development and the customer
• Provided technical support for an entire sales group, including site visits to customers’ facilities for troubleshooting
• Wrote controlled documents including test sheets, standard operating procedures, batch records and equipment validation documentation following cGMP guidelines
• Wrote safety documents including Safety Data Sheets, product container labels, safety training protocols, and safety audits following applicable OSHA and EPA guidelines.
• Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, EPA and OSHA guidelines.
• Managed budget for entire Operations Department for multiple facilities
• Managed multiple projects involving development of commercially successful new products.
