UPMC Harrisburg and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central PA Launch New Hospitality Cart

UPMC Harrisburg and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central PA (RMHC-CP) announced an exciting new partnership aimed at enhancing the comfort and care of pediatric patients and their families. The new Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart will serve families receiving services in the pediatric inpatient, Neonatal Intensive Care and Emergency Services Departments at UPMC Harrisburg. A stay in the hospital can be frightening for young children. The Hospitality Cart will offer snacks, arts and crafts, personal care items and more to pediatric patients and their families, helping ease the stress of their hospital stay.

"We take pride in delivering expert care to pediatric patients and families across the region", said Elizabeth Ritter, president, UPMC Harrisburg, UPMC Community Osteopathic, UPMC West Shore, and interim president of UPMC Carlisle. "Like the Ronald McDonald House Charities, UPMC is committed to delivering services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need health care. We are proud to partner with the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I speak on behalf of the entire staff of the unit when I say that we’re excited to see the smiles the Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart will bring to the patients and their families."

This special initiative brings support and care to families with sick and injured children directly to the hospital floors. For more information about UPMC services in central Pennsylvania, visit UPMC.com/CentralPa
