Two York College faculty members honored among Forty Under 40

The Central Pennsylvania Business Journal (CPBJ) has announced this year’s winners of the Forty Under 40 award, and two York College faculty members are among them. Rachael, Lattanzio, DNP, RN, and Amy Reed, Ph.D., CRNA, will be recognized at a ceremony in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 24.

"The Myers School of Nursing and Health Professions is very proud of the rising stars of Drs. Rachael Latanzio and Amy Reed,” said Emmanuel John, Dean of the Donald E. and Lois J. Myers School of Nursing and Health Professions. “We are fortunate to have these two colleagues in our Nursing and CRNA programs. We look forward to seeing the other great things they will accomplish in years to come. Congratulations to both Latanzio and Reed for this well-deserved recognition!" 

Forty Under 40 recognizes professionals 39 years of age and younger who have been successful in Central Pennsylvania. Honorees were selected by a panel of previous winners and the CPBJ leadership team based on professional accomplishments, community service, and commitment to inspiring change. 

Rachael Lattanzio

Lattanzio is an assistant professor of nursing at York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. She was selected for the award because of the positive impact she’s had on the lives of her patients, nursing students, wellness coaching clients, and all those who have benefited from her community service engagements. She has served on the leadership board of the Beyond Pink Foundation, where she advocates for those affected by breast cancer. She also regularly volunteers for organizations, including the American Heart Association.

Amy Reed

Reed is the assistant program director of the YCP/WellSpan Nurse Anesthesia Program and teaches at YCP. She was nominated for CPBJ’s Forty Under 40 award because of her contributions to the field of nursing and anesthesia, her skill as an instructor, and her commitment to lifelong learning. Her nominator described her as “a purpose-driven professional, focused on making a positive impact.”

The honorees will be recognized Oct. 24 at a celebration at the Hilton Harrisburg, One North Second Street. The evening begins at 4:30 p.m. with networking, food stations and drinks. The awards celebration starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dessert reception, drinks and additional networking opportunities. The event hashtag is #CPBJevents.

Attendance is limited, with sponsors receiving priority access.
