Race Cars and Drivers Will Be On Site at Red Land Community Library Saturday, June 8

Six race car drivers, courtesy of BAPS Motor Speedway, will be available for photos and autographs with their vehicles in the parking lot near the Red Land Community Library. The event will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at 70 Newberry Commons in Etters. The event is part of the launch for the 2024 York County Libraries SummerQuest program for kids and teensdubbed Adventure Begins at Your Library. Individuals and families are welcome to fuel up with snacks and drinks at the library and to pick up their SummerQuest packets after registering on the Beanstack App. For more information, visit www.yorklibraries.org.

 

Our Red Land staff is right on track with an adventurous start to SummerQuest programming this year,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “This weekend’s event is a great opportunity for community members of all ages to get aup-close look at racing vehicles, talk with the drivers, and rev up their summer adventures.”

 

New this year is a countywide SummerQuest Challenge for adults, ages 19+. Participants are encouraged to visit as many YCL locations as possible to collect a stamp and secret code for a chance at prizes. 

 

In addition, Red Land Library is inviting adults to participate in a Summer Bingo with reading and activities at the library for chances to win a Kindle Fire or assorted gift cards. Packets for the adult summer programs are available at the circulation desk. Participants should bring the completed bingo card to the library for the prize entries before August 17, 2024.
