Downtown Inc Opens New Resource Center

York, PA – (April 22, 2024) Downtown Inc is pleased to announce a new Downtown Resource Center in the heart of Downtown York, in partnership with York City Police Department.

Located at 44 W. Philadelphia Street, in the historic Kable House building adjacent to Central Market House, the Downtown Resource Center invites business owners, residents, and visitors to our Downtown to visit and connect with members of the Downtown Inc team, the York City Police Department, and the BLOOM Business Empowerment Center.

To provide consistent hours, Downtown Inc and BLOOM team members will be available each Monday from 1- 5 p.m. All are welcome to walk-in, but business owners are encouraged to set an appointment here, and indicate if they need bilingual services.

“Being accessible to business owners, and visitors, is essential to the mission of Downtown Inc,” said Sarah O’Brien, Director of Downtown Inc. “This could be for businesses to talk through new events or ideas, discuss marketing assistance or clean and green needs in the community, or even just catch up and chat with our team. The partnership with York City Police Department also provides more access for those who pop by to connect with an officer and talk through any safety concerns.”

The Downtown Resource Center includes dedicated space for YCPD’s Downtown Officers, and therapy dogs, with signage to indicate when an officer is in and available to chat. “Keeping our officers visible, and accessible, not only increases public safety in our Downtown, but helps us better connect to all who visit, call Downtown York home, and the business owners who invest in us each and every day,” said York City Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow.

All are invited to join the ribbon cutting and open house for the Downtown Resource Center tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23 at 4 p.m.

Office Hours will begin Monday, April 29 at 1p.m. This initiative was made possible through funding by the York County Community Foundation.
