You're invited you to an upcoming Community Conversation hosted by Martin Library and the City of York Human Relations Commission:
Do Your Children Matter? Human Trafficking and Its Impact on Your Community and Your Family

The conversation will take place on Thursday, October 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Martin Library. Dinner will be served.

This community discussion will explore important questions including:
·         What is human trafficking?
·         Why should I care?
·         How can it impact my family?
·         What can I do to help prevent it?

Human trafficking is often misunderstood. According to the Safe House Project, traffickers frequently reach children through digital technology and exploit vulnerabilities within family and social environments. Rather than relying on the stranger-danger scenarios many people imagine, trafficking often begins through manipulation, grooming, and relationship-building.

At this Community Conversation, you will have the opportunity to:
·         Engage with local professionals who work to prevent human trafficking and provide support services for victims and survivors.
·         Hear from individuals who have experienced trafficking and are rebuilding their lives.
·         Learn practical steps to help safeguard children and teens from exploitation and grooming.

Human trafficking is happening in our community, and awareness is one of the most important tools we have to prevent it.
