Newborns at UPMC Memorial Join Staff in Celebrating Five Years of the New Hospital
In honor of UPMC Memorial's five-year anniversary at its new hospital campus at 1701 Innovation Drive, York, babies born at UPMC Magee-Womens at UPMC Memorial received a knitted birthday hat to celebrate along with the staff this week. The hats were generously knitted by hospital volunteers and brought smiles to the faces of parents and hospital staff alike.
Shawna Hake of York delivered baby Gary Hake III on Aug. 21. She is very excited for Gary to meet his two older sisters who went back to school on their brother’s birthday. Alyssa Walker also from York, delivered baby Armon Wakefield on Aug. 19. Armon has five siblings waiting to welcome him home with lots of love. Both Shawna and Alyssa lauded the care they and their babies received at UPMC Memorial.
While UPMC Memorial, formerly known as Memorial Hospital, has an almost 80-year history of serving the York community, the new UPMC Memorial officially opened and started providing care to patients at its current location on Aug. 19, 2019.
