Martin Library to Host Santa and Mrs. Claus
Appearance Part of December 5 Light Up York Festivities
YORK, PA – Martin Library will host Santa and Mrs. Claus as part of this year’s Light Up York festivities starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 5.  Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and families need to secure their spot in line by 7:00 p.m. During the evening, families should use the library’s North Queen Street sliding glass doors to easily access the festivities in the Children’s area.
According to Martin Library Director Mina Edmondson, families receive a number upon arrival, allowing children to enjoy crafts and activities while they wait, ensuring a smooth, festive, and fun experience. “We are excited to continue this beloved tradition with a new theme this year: The 12 Days of Christmas,” says Edmondson. Once again, families are welcome to take photos of their own children sharing their holiday wishes with Santa.
“Last year, Martin Library’s jolly visitors drew over 400 people,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “This annual celebration continues to bring joy to hundreds.”
For families who want to add an act of kindness to their library experience, they are welcome to drop off an unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots program. In addition, the library is accepting donations of new or laundered scarves, hats, and gloves for its Warming Tree. The items placed on the tree are available for individuals and families to take what they need to keep warm during the cold winter months.

“Thanks to the support of York City Special Events, Downtown, Inc, WellSpan Health, and Shipley Energy, this cherished tradition will continue to shine brightly in the heart of York,” adds Edmondson.
