Martin Library Honors John and Maria Polli
YORK, PA - The Martin Library Honors Committee will recognize John and Maria Polli as its Fall 2025 Honorees during an upcoming ceremony and reception. The event will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5 at Martin Library in York. Individuals interested in attending should register at donate.yorklibraries.org by October 22.
“John and Maria are long-standing leaders of the York community and devoted library champions. Earlier this year, they were instrumental in helping YCL launch its inaugural ‘Beyond the Books’ which welcomed internationally acclaimed author David Baldacci to York,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “We appreciate their ongoing dedication to libraries; supporting learning opportunities across York County.”
The honors ceremony will feature tributes to John and Maria by several guest speakers. They include Mike Huson, senior vice president, Executive Commercial Lending Manager, Traditions Bank, a Division of ACNB Bank; Kevin Eisenhart, managing partner at emc CPAs, LLC; Bill Yanavitch, retired chief human resources officer, Kinsley Enterprises; and Victoria Diamond, senior vice president, Central Region, WellSpan Health.
John and Maria are loyal supporters of numerous York County community services, with a special interest in literacy and healthcare. John is active in the York community, serving as chair of the Martin Library Board, and as board of director for Traditions Bank, A Division of ACNB Bank. Maria previously worked at the law offices of Vedder & Morris, and later as office manager for Cool Air Corporation. John retired in 2024 as President of Dart Trucking Company, andcurrently serves as CEO of Reliance Student Transportation.
A key component of the Martin Honors event is establishing a perpetual fund to purchase books in the honoree's name. Contributions are welcome by donating securely online at donate.yorklibraries.org or by mail to Martin Library Honors Fund, 159 East Market Street, York, PA 17401. The Martin Library Honors Committee is chaired by Lori Rene Weyant, with members Robert Cox, Liz Dellinger, Robert F. Lambert, Donna Pullo, Kelley Gibson, Patrick Ball, and honorary member Lynne Danyo.
Serving the community since 1935, Martin Library is one of York County's oldest libraries and is a branch of York County Libraries. Located at 159 E. Market Street in the City of York, it is recognized as a PA Forward Gold Star library for its outstanding provision of programs and resources to community members. Martin Library also holds the distinguished honor of being the first library to receive the Library of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Library Association.
