Libraries are the go-to place this summer

York County Libraries "Color Our World” SummerQuest program starts Monday, June 2 at library locations countywide. SummerQuest encourages area youth to read, attend library events, and explore nature through GO York! The free program is geared to children and teens from birth to 18.

“For many York County families, our libraries are the go-to place for finding interesting things to do, read, and explore during summer vacation,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “Each year, our youth services team plans a roster of entertainment, educational programs and fun activities to keep children and teens engaged and learning all summer long,”

According to York County Libraries Youth Services Director Mindy McDonnell, SummerQuest has a new twist. This year, participants will track their reading and activities to complete four virtual badges to complete the SummerQuest challenge. We have created a summer packed with activities to keep children and teens mentally and physically active,” says McDonnell. “This year’s program allows each participant to personalize their experience and to pursue their own goals and interests.
