It’s a Wrap for the Rise United:
Financial Empowerment Series Spring Session!

York, PA – On April 25, 2026, First Capital Federal Credit Union, in partnership with the United Way of York County, wrapped up the Rise United: Financial Empowerment Series. This 3-session program is designed to help underserved residents in York County expand their financial knowledge and set them up for a successful financial future.
As part of this initiative, eligible participants now have the opportunity to open a First Capital membershipand a “Rise to Thrive Savings Account.” This account is designed to help them start an emergency fund jointly funded by the United Way of York County and First Capital FCU. After the account is set up, they will continue to receive ongoing support from us through financial reviews and follow-ups.
“Our goal with this program is to remove barriers and provide a clear path toward financial stability,” said Kayla Weaver, School Branch Coordinator at First Capital Federal Credit Union and program lead. “This program is about building confidence, creating opportunity, and helping individuals take meaningful steps forward.”
Twenty-three people participated in this cohort, up from 9 during the fall session. This shows a growing demand for the program. This also reflects First Capital’s continued commitment to financial wellness and its mission of People Helping People.
