HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES IN HANOVER, PA
Trick-or-treat in Hanover is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Motorists should be alert for pedestrian activity in the area, and Trick-or-Treaters are urged to carry flashlights and to wear reflective clothing. Residents who wish to participate should turn on their porch lights.
The annual Halloween Parade, organized by the Hanover Area Jaycees, is scheduled for Thursday, October 24, 2024. Parking restrictions begin at 5:00 p.m., traffic restrictions begin at 6:30 p.m. and the parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. The parade route begins at the corner of Wirt Avenue and Baltimore Street, then travels north on Baltimore Street to Hanover Center Square, continuing on Carlisle Street to Library Place and Third Street where it eventually disbands.
The Hanover Borough Police Department has announced the following road closures and parking restrictions for the evening starting at 5:00 p.m. and will remain in effect until the end of the parade:
• No Parking on Carlisle Street from Center Square to Third Street
• No Parking on Baltimore Street from Center Square to O’Neill Avenue
• No Parking on Center Square
• No Parking on Third Street on the south side from High Street to Carlisle Street
• No Parking on Third Street on the north side from Carlisle Street to N. Franklin Street
• No Parking on North Franklin Street from Third Street to Jackson Street
• No Parking on Park Avenue, between Carlisle Street and N. Franklin Street
• No Parking on Academy Street from Carlisle Street to Eichelberger Street
Vehicles found parked along the parade route or the disbandment area will be ticketed and towed.
In addition, the Borough of Hanover Department of Public Works urges parade attendees to carry out all trash or use the temporary trash receptacles provided for the event to dispose of litter.
