Description
Join us for the December WBCO Luncheon: Guide to Launch: The Importance of Mentors and The BLOOM Pitch Competition.
Among the diversity of our WBCO members, we have those who are a part of the next generation of community builders and leaders - looking for guidance on how to take next steps, prioritize their time and effort, and how to invest in themselves. We also have seasoned executives, female business owners and professionals, who, through their experiences of setbacks and success, have learned efficiencies and lessons that they hope to share with others. The perfect marriage of the two is the WBCO Mentorship Cohort, presented by RKL, where applicants will be paired up to learn from each other, develop, and engage within the community. Hear from a Mentorship Cohort success story: Kelley Gibson and Cindy Strawbridge!
Mentor, Kelley Gibson:
Kelley Gibson is the President of the Cultural Alliance of York County, South-Central Pennsylvania’s only United Arts Fund, efficiently raising and re-granting critical operating support for arts and culture organizations and artists. As President, Kelley is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management, and success of the organization, including grant management, staff development, fund development, fiscal management, and relationship building with business, government and the community.
With 20 years of experience working with arts, culture, and community organizations for the betterment of York, Kelley’s areas of expertise include grant-making, fundraising and special event planning.
Mentee, Cindy Strawbridge:
Cindy A. Strawbridge is the Assistant Director of Student Involvement at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. She is the current oversight of both the York and Gettysburg campuses where she is impacting lives and transforming futures through innovative mediums such as affinity groups. Mrs. Strawbridge is bridging the gap of diversity and inclusion by creating a sense of belonging for every individual who attends HACC.
With over 17 years in the higher education sector, Cindy’s goal is to create an environment where learning is fun, change is inevitable, and education is desired.
Part two of the luncheon, will feature The BLOOM Pitch Competition: Attendees will be a part of the action and hear from various woman owned businesses across YoCo as they put their best foot forward in effort to be awarded the WBCO Bloom Grant- providing the winner access to capital to support their blooming business!
Join the luncheon December 13 at Heritage Hills Resort (2700 Mt. Rose Ave., York, PA). Registration, networking, and lunch begin at 11:30am. The program will run from 12:00pm-1:00pm.
