Description
A STEM Team Building Activity for Local Companies
Imagine your team participating in a gauntlet of STEM activities against other teams from other companies.
Imagine the challenge posed to solve problems and complete tasks quickly working as a team.
Imagine the fun of working together to be event champions.
Even more, imagine supporting an amazing cause!
Your company can register teams of five associates for a minimum of $500 per team.
Registration will be completed and fundraising will be tracked on our Qgiv event site.
There are lots of special events in the community: 5k runs, golf tournaments... you name it. But here's a chance for companies to show off their competitive juices with science, technology, engineering, and math.
The STEM Corporate Challenge will be held in three locations in May. Up to 25 teams will compete at each event to take home the championship trophy. A team will consist of five business colleagues. Teams will participate in five timed competitions. Referees will officiate the modules and scores will be tracked. Total scores will determine winning teams.
Prizes will be awarded to the overall top scoring team, top fundraising team, and top individual fundraiser. Top team and individual fundraisers will be determined by individual donations received through Qgiv, NOT including corporate registration fees. We encourage all teams, whether company or individually funded, to use Qgiv, our fundraising site, to raise as much as possible.
Electrical Competition
In the electrical competition, each team is given a box of electrical parts with instructions on wiring a circuit comprised of five components. It is a timed event so points are awarded for fastest completion.
Relay Competition
The relay is a series of science and engineering activities that are done sequentially by each team. The secret is to work together and strategize on best approaches. It is a timed event so points are awarded for fastest completion.
Math Competition
The math competition is made up of four activities that involve geometry and mathematics. Time is allotted for each activity and points are awarded for a total score in each area.
Civil Engineering Competition
The civil engineering competition is a timed event where each team is given an assignment to build the tallest tower with materials provided. Points are awarded for the height of the tower.
Robotics Competition
The robotics competition has team members controlling robots to complete tasks on a game board. Points are awarded based on assignments completed in the time allotted.
