We hope you can join the YCEA in celebrating the opening of The York Jewish Community Center’s Project Manna food pantry at 2000 Hollywood Drive, York, PA 17403.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place Thursday, September 4 at 5:45 pm. 

A message from the York Jewish Community Center:
The York JCC is proud to share with you an important expansion of our Project Manna food pantry. We are launching an outdoor food-sharing cabinet that will allow us to respond to the rapidly increasing numbers of those in our community experiencing food insecurity while fostering a culture of compassion, dignity, and inclusion. The "Matan B’Seter Food Sharing Cabinet" operates on a simple, powerful principle: Give what you can. Take what you need.

·         Give what you can: Place unexpired food, hygiene items, or paper goods inside the cabinet. Please give what you would want to receive.

·         Take what you need: If you see items you need, feel free to take them—just what you need, when you need it.

Rooted in Jewish tradition, matan b’seter—giving in secret—is considered one of the highest forms of charity. Our food-sharing cabinet honors this value, allowing both donors and recipients to remain anonymous while nurturing trust and connection within our community.

This new initiative helps bridge the gap between emergency food assistance and everyday nutritional support—offering families an easy, judgment-free way to get the help they need.
