Description
More than 500 older adults from across York County are expected to come together in late June for the 18th annual York County Senior Games. The goal is to promote healthy lifestyles and fitness for York County men and women aged 50 and older (by 12/31/2019). Senior Games extends for a 5-day period, from June 17 through June 21, 2019, at a variety of event-specific York County locations. Compete for medals in over 40 events, from triathlon to horseshoes, bocce, poker, pickle ball, corn hole, swimming, Wii bowling, target and trap shooting - to name but a few. There is something for everyone of all fitness levels! There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee, good for an unlimited number of non-conflicting events. ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY THE FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2019 REGISTRATION DEADLINE! Registrations should be received as early as possible because of limited openings in some events. Not sure about participating?? Have as much fun as the competitors! Volunteers are also needed to help support the games. It's a particularly great opportunity for adult civic organizations, church groups, high school and college students or businesses. All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, call 717-771-9001. The Senior Games are organized by the York County Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with the Senior Games Planning Committee, which is made up of community and business volunteers. Expenses for the Games are entirely underwritten by corporate sponsors, private donations, and participant entry fees. 2019 registration booklets will be available at many locations throughout York County in April, or can be obtained by contacting 717-771-9001, or 1-800-632-9073. Registration booklets and forms are available at www.ycaaa.org, on the "forms and documents" page. Previous competitors will receive a registration booklet in the mail in April 2019.
