York County Community Foundation Announces Cathy Bollinger as Director of Grantmaking

(York, PA, December 16, 2025) York County Community Foundation (YCCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cathy Bollinger, CSA, as its Director of Grantmaking. In this role, Cathy will lead YCCF’s grantmaking operations from application review through impact measurement, ensuring that every stage of the process advances long-term, equitable progress for York County.

Reporting to Michele Mummert, Vice President of Grants & Community Engagement, Cathy will oversee the full lifecycle of grants, guide volunteer grant committees, support grantee inquiries, foster strategic partnerships, and leverage data-driven insights to improve processes and outcomes.

A cornerstone of Cathy’s leadership will be applying an age-friendly lens throughout YCCF’s grantmaking, ensuring that we take into account the impact that grants can have for people of all ages. With the older adult population rapidly growing in York County, and with nearly 40% of residents over age 50, integrating age-friendly principles is more important than ever. Community challenges such as housing affordability, transportation access, healthcare availability, and social connection disproportionately affect older adults, but solutions that address these needs improve life for everyone.

Since joining YCCF in 2014, Cathy has been a driving force behind county-wide efforts to dismantle ageism and build an Age-Friendly York County. She has led the grantmaking from the Hahn Home Fund for Embracing Aging, collaborated with local, regional, and national partners, and championed YCCF’s role in the Age-Friendly PA Initiative. Her leadership has elevated York County as a model for communities seeking to support older adults through thoughtful investment, advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration.
In her new role, Cathy will guide a dedicated team within YCCF’s Grants & Community Engagement department and work closely with community volunteers who serve on YCCF’s grant committees.

“Cathy’s expertise and passion for creating communities where people of all ages can thrive make her uniquely suited for this role,” said Michele Mummert. “Her leadership will ensure that age-friendly thinking remains central to YCCF’s grantmaking and community partnerships.”
Please join us in congratulating Cathy Bollinger on her new role as Director of Grantmaking at YCCF and in celebrating the continued integration of age-friendly principles into the foundation’s mission to create a vibrant York County for all.
