York College to Welcome New Knowledge Park Partners with Milestone

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

York, Pa.

— York College of Pennsylvania will celebrate the continued growth of Knowledge

Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming three new and expanding partners: MANTEC,

Dataforma, and JDB Engineering. The event will take place on Friday, January 16, at 12:15pm

at Knowledge Park, located at 427 Kings Mill Road in York.

Knowledge Park is a collaborative hub where higher education and industry intersect. It is

designed to drive innovation, applied learning, and regional economic development. This

ribbon-cutting marks an important milestone for Knowledge Park.

“MANTEC, Dataforma, and JDB Engineering exemplify the kind of forward-thinking partners we

envisioned when Knowledge Park was created,

” said York College President Dr. Thomas Burns.

“These organizations strengthen the connection between classroom learning and real-world

work, giving our students experience while helping fuel growth in York County.

MANTEC is a not-for-profit industrial resource center that works to expand manufacturers’

global footprint through productivity and innovation. Now that it is headquartered at Knowledge

Park, it has the potential to help further connect students with the manufacturing sector, creating

opportunities for hands-on learning in engineering, accounting, finance, and supply chain

management.

Dataforma is a cloud-based computing company that provides business management services

for the construction industry. It recently graduated from the business incubator at York College’s

J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and moved to Knowledge Park. Its continued growth

reflects the park’s role in helping emerging companies grow.

JDB Engineering, a consulting firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural,

and civil engineering, has been involved with Knowledge Park since its earliest stages. The firm

played a key role in designing the shell of the Knowledge Park building and now joins the

community as a resident.“Knowledge Park is where ideas turn into action,

” Jeff Vermeulen, Chief of Staff and Vice

President for Community Engagement at York College, said.

“These partners bring energy and

opportunity into a space that benefits our students, faculty, and the community. Their presence

proves Knowledge Park is the catalyst we knew it could be when it comes to workforce

development and long-term economic growth.

Knowledge Park is projected to deliver an estimated $64 million in economic value to the York

area, generate more than $27 million in local income, and create hundreds of employment

opportunities.

If you plan on attending the ribbon-cutting, please RSVP to Director of Communications Julie

Loeper by 11am on Friday.
