York College to Celebrate 250+ Graduates in Wednesday Commencement

York College of Pennsylvania will hold its December Commencement ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, honoring 266 graduates receiving associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The ceremony will start at 10:15 a.m. in the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center on York College’s campus and will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.

York College President Dr. Thomas Burns will deliver the Commencement Address, offering inspiration to the Class of 2024 as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Dr. Alison Kennicutt, the Faculty Speaker and recipient of the Presidential Award for Teaching and Mentoring Excellence, will share additional remarks. Representing the graduating class, Omar Castro, a Business Administration major, will serve as the Student Speaker.

In addition to recognizing the graduates' achievements, York College will honor two retiring faculty members, Dr. Barbara Hanbury and Dr. Dennis Weiss, for their years of dedication and service to the institution.

Following the Commencement ceremony, graduates will participate in a cherished York College tradition by signing "Ol' Spart," near the Iosue Student Union. This tradition signifies the graduates’ academic journey and their enduring connection to the Spartan community.

Media representatives are invited to attend the ceremony. Parking is available outside the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center. This milestone event offers an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2024 and the ongoing legacy of York College alumni.
