York College Hosts Student-Led NARCAN Training

York College of Pennsylvania is committed to equipping students, staff, and community members with the knowledge and resources needed to save lives. The College will host a free, student-led NARCAN training session on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 5–6 p.m. in Weinstock Lecture Hall in the Willman Business Center. Organized by nursing students, this unique event will educate attendees on how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses using NARCAN, a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an overdose.

During the one-hour session, participants will learn:

  • ●  The latest Pennsylvania opioid overdose statistics

  • ●  How to identify the signs of an overdose

  • ●  Step-by-step procedures for responding to an overdose

  • ●  Proper administration of NARCAN

Upon completion of the training, each attendee will receive a personal NARCAN kit to take with them.

This event is open to all YCP students, faculty, staff, and community members. Space is limited to 100 participants.

Join us to be prepared, be informed, and help save lives.

This training is hosted by the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) at York College. Interviews will be available before and after the training. If your organization plans to attend, please contact Director of Communications Julie Loeper.
