White Rose Credit Union Awards Teacher Grants to Support Innovative Classroom Projects
York, PA – White Rose Credit Union is once again investing in local education through its Teacher
Grant Program, offering two $500 grants to educators in York and Adams Counties who are
bringing creative ideas and meaningful learning opportunities to their classrooms.
The Teacher Grant Program is designed to help teachers fund projects, classroom resources,
technology, learning space enhancements, student engagement initiatives, and other
educational opportunities that positively impact student success. Grants are available to current
teachers employed by schools located in York or Adams Counties, and membership with White
Rose Credit Union is not required to apply.
"Teachers work tirelessly to create opportunities that inspire and engage students, often with
limited resources," said Wendy Haray, Vice President of Marketing & Security at White Rose
Credit Union. "Through our Teacher Grant Program, we're honored to support educators who
are developing innovative ways to enhance learning and make a lasting difference in their
classrooms."
The impact of the program can be seen through past grant recipients such as Paul Thom,
Graphic Design Teacher at Red Lion Area Senior High School. Thom used grant funding to
purchase a desktop printer for the school's graphic design and print program, allowing students
to gain hands-on experience producing professional-quality printed materials.
"The desktop printer funded through your generous grant has quickly become one of the most
impactful additions to our high school graphic design and print program," said Thom. "It has
transformed the way our students approach their work by allowing them to move seamlessly
from digital design to a professional-quality printed product."
The equipment enabled students to complete real-world projects, including designing and
printing graduation programs for the Class of 2026. Students gained valuable experience in
project management, quality control, teamwork, and deadline-driven production.
Thom said the benefits of the grant extend beyond the equipment itself.
"This grant has provided more than just a piece of equipment," he said. "It has created
meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students with the technical skills,
confidence, and professional mindset they will carry into college, careers, and the creative
industry for years to come."
White Rose Credit Union encourages educators with innovative project ideas to apply.
Applications will be accepted through September 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Projects will be evaluated based on their goals, anticipated student impact, implementation plan, and overall educational value. Whether the funding supports STEM initiatives, literacy programs, classroom technology, student enrichment activities, or other creative educational projects, White Rose
Credit Union remains committed to helping educators provide meaningful experiences that
empower students to learn, grow, and succeed.
