Master storyteller David Baldacci is coming to the Appell Center in York at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22. He is the featured author for York County Libraries' inaugural “Beyond the Books” event. Introducing the global bestselling author will be MCs Amy Kehm and Brett Thackara, hosts of abc27’s daily lifestyle program, Good Day PA.

 

A prolific writer, Baldacci’s novels are published in over 45 languages and in more than 80 countries, with 150 million copies sold worldwide. He has published over 50 novels for adults including recent titles “Long Shadows,” Simply Lies,” “The Edge,” “A Calamity of Souls,” and his April 2025 new release “Strangers in Time.” His body of work consistently becomes national and international bestsellers, with many novels adapted for film and television.

 

During his appearance at the Appell CenterBaldacci will entertain the audience with tales from his travels, his life as a writer, and the creative process behind his bestselling novels. Audience members can meet the author during a book signing following the show when he autographs copies of his newest book “Strangers in Time”.He will sign one copy per person. For convenience, a copy of the book can be ordered during ticket purchase that is available for pickup at the event. 

 

Tickets are on sale now at the Appell Center box office. Regular admission tickets are priced at $52, or $72 with the book. VIP tickets cost $155, or $175 with a book. VIP tickets include admission to a private reception with Baldacci at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds from the evening support York County Libraries delivery of books, literacy programs, and resources for all community members.

 

A survey of our library cardholders clearly showed us that our readers wanted to see author David Baldacci in person. So, our team set to work to bring this master storyteller to York for our inaugural event, says York County Libraries President Robert F.
