CASA Announces Launch of a New ESOL Program

CASA is excited to announce the launch of a new ESOL program and wants to share important information about available positions. The program will start on October 28th and will last for 8 weeks, with classes held from Monday to Thursday, 7 pm - 9 pm. Some Fridays will be used for makeup sessions. Additionally, we are actively looking for qualified ESOL teachers with experience in this field of education or TESOL certification. The pay for this role is $27 per hour, with an expected stipend of $900. The job description and application are attached for your review. ESOL Part-Time Teacher Information: 
The Life Skills ESOL Program facilitates evening classes at CASA’s York Welcome Center located at 907 Roosevelt Avenue, York, PA 17404. The contract period for this position covers the Fall Two 2024 class session from 10/28/24 to 12/19/24. This position is part-time, temporary with the potential for renewal at the end of the Fall Two 2024 session. Evening hours are: Monday to Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Friday make-up classes will be held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm as needed.The pay is $27 per hour with an average of 8 hours worked per week. Teachers will also receive a $900 stipend at the end of the session if they have adhered to all administrative policy and deadlines including but not limited to the following: weekly lesson plan and daily attendance submission, and proctoring and grading of bi-weekly standardized assessments. This is a part-time position without any benefits. All candidates must provide proof of current COVID-19 vaccination upon acceptance of an offer.

Teacher orientation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm via Zoom on the following dates: 10/14/24, 10/15/24, 10/16/24 and 10/22/24. Additionally, an in person training will be held at CASA’s York Welcome Center, 907 Roosevelt Avenue, York, PA 17404 on 8/23/24 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It is mandatory that new teachers’ attend all 5 days of orientation. Candidates must be available to teach all four evenings of class and all Friday make-up classes for the entirety of the agreement period from 10/14/24 to 12/20/24.
