First Capital FCU Participates in
#ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day!

York, PA – On Friday, July 25, 2025, First Capital Federal Credit Union participated in the annual #ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day social media blitz. It was created to raise credit union awareness and to help credit unions make an impact together.

First Capital invited its employees and members to share why they love their credit union. Employees highlighted our members, great rates, rewards, and our community engagement while members cited reasons such as great customer service, friendly staff, and more.

Members and non-members were also asked to vote for their favorite, local non-profit organizations to help them win a piece of $2,000.

“#ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day is a great reminder of what makes credit unions special, our people and our purpose,” said Tara Houser Minetos, Senior VP of Marketing at First Capital FCU. “Seeing the community and our staff come together to celebrate not only the credit union difference but also to support local non-profits, embodies everything we stand for at First Capital.”

The top four vote-getters moved on to Round Two and competed in a Fruit Race at the York Revolution baseball game on July 29th. Four representatives for each organization dressed in fruit costumes and ran around the bases to determine how much money each organization won. Crossing home plate in 1st place, and taking home $1,000, was 18 South Youth Center, 2nd place for $500 was the York JCC, 3rd and 4th place winners were York Habitat for Humanity and the Margaret E. Moul Home who each won $250.
