First Capital Celebrates #ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day While Supporting Local Nonprofits

York, PA – First Capital Federal Credit Union joined credit unions across the country in celebrating #ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day, an annual social media campaign that raises awareness of the credit union difference and the positive impact credit unions make in their communities.

To celebrate, First Capital invited members to share why they love their credit union for a chance to win a $25 gift card. Members highlighted First Capital's exceptional service, competitive rates, rewards, community involvement, and commitment to putting people first.

In addition, community members voted for their favorite local nonprofit organizations to compete for a share of $2,400 in charitable donations sponsored by First Capital.

"#ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day is a great reminder of what makes credit unions unique. Our commitment to our members and our communities," said Tara Houser Minetos, Senior Vice President of Marketing at First Capital Federal Credit Union. "Seeing our members, employees, and local nonprofits come together to celebrate the credit union difference reflects the People Helping People philosophy that guides everything we do."

The four nonprofits receiving the most votes advanced to the final round, where representatives competed in the York Revolution's fan-favorite Fruit Race at WellSpan Park. Based on the race results, LifePath Christian Ministries earned the top prize of $1,000, followed by Right Foot Ranch with $750. York Habitat for Humanityreceived $400 for its third-place finish, and Building Bridges for Brianna was awarded $250 for placing fourth.

Through events like #ILOVEMYCREDITUNION Day, First Capital continues to celebrate the credit union movement while investing in the organizations that strengthen the York County community.
