Downtown Inc and the York City Police Department to Host National Night Out on August 5
York, PA – (July 30, 2025) Downtown Inc and the York City Police Department invite the community to come together for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, at the Downtown Resource Center (44 W Philadelphia St.) from 4pm-6pm. This free, family-friendly event is open to all ages and aims to strengthen relationships between neighbors, businesses, and law enforcement in a positive and welcoming environment.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It provides an opportunity to bring law enforcement and neighbors together under uplifting circumstances — reinforcing a true sense of community.
Across the country, millions of neighbors participate in National Night Out through events like block parties, festivals, cookouts, safety demonstrations, and more.
Here in Downtown York, attendees can look forward to:
- Free food provided by Auggie’s from Central Market
- Music and games
- Photo opportunities
- Giveaways
- Activities on the sidewalk and in the back courtyard of the Downtown Resource Center
The event is proudly presented in partnership with Downtown Inc and the York City Police Department. Special thanks to the York City Police Department’s Downtown team, who have been working hard to coordinate fun and meaningful activities for all ages.
We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our generous partners and sponsors who helped provide items, food, and music to make this event extra fun: York College of Pennsylvania, Penn State University Police, Center for Traffic Safety, Martin’s Chips, Graham Packaging, NICETRUTH Solutions, Auggie’s Joint, and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.
“We’re excited to bring neighbors, families, officers, and downtown businesses together for this nationwide event,” said Sarah O’Brien, Director of Downtown Inc. “It’s a chance to celebrate what makes Downtown York such a vibrant and welcoming place.”
Please feel free to invite your downtown neighbors, tenants, and customers to join in the celebration. We hope to see you there!
