York Water celebrating historic milestone, ringing the closing bell at Nasdaq
consecutive dividend payouts, 20 years on Nasdaq, is reason to celebrate on Wall Street
The York Water Company (NASDAQ:YORW) today announced it will be featured on the Nasdaq Stock Market in New York City when the York-based public utility company’s President and CEO, JT Hand, virtually rings the celebratory closing bell on Monday, Nov. 23.
Senior Nasdaq officials have invited York Water to ring the iconic bell to celebrate 20 years on the Nasdaq and to acknowledge the company’s recent milestone for investors. Since being incorporated in 1816, the nation’s oldest publicly traded utility company has paid a record-breaking 599 consecutive dividends, extending the longest consecutive dividend streak in the nation, according to York Water officials.
“We are extremely proud to say The York Water Company has consistently paid dividends to our loyal investors for more than 204 years,” said Hand. “This record-breaking run speaks volumes to our fiscal commitment to our investors as we simultaneously fulfill our mission of leading the industry through responsible and proactive investments and innovations, providing our customers with safe, dependable, high-quality water and wastewater services. Our fiscal prudence has fostered system efficiencies and ongoing opportunities for scalability, and we’re thrilled to be going back to the Nasdaq to celebrate this history-making moment.”
Due to COVID-19, the bell ringing ceremony, a Wall Street tradition since the late 1800s, has become a virtual experience for Nasdaq. The opening and closing bells are broadcast to a global audience on the Nasdaq live stream Webcam, the seven-story Nasdaq Tower Marquee in Times Square, CNBC, Fox Business News, Bloomberg TV, and BNN.
The event can be viewed live on the Nasdaq MarketSite starting at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020.
