York JCC Set To Open Renovated Lobby
Remodeled space adds to continuum of upgrades
The York Jewish Community Center (York JCC) will reopen its main lobby entrance March 29th after a major facelift, including a new art gallery, ornate tile floor, elaborate reception desk, and an overall brighter, fresh look.
While COVID-19 limited the JCC’s ability to hold a grand reopening ceremony for the lobby - the York County Economic Alliance facilitated a private ribbon-cutting event, now available on the two organizations’ Facebook pages.
The new lobby, funded largely by grants from Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, as well as the Powder Mill Foundation, joins a series of JCC upgrades during the past several years, including an expanded early childhood wing, enhanced fitness center, a second childcare facility in Jacobus, and moving its cafe under new management, now operated by The Copper Crust.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have such a beautiful facility to offer our community,” said the JCC’s new CEO, Jonah Geller. “As COVID begins to subside, we’re experiencing an uptick in foot traffic with a number of our programs - all while continuing to maintain CDC guidelines.
Socially-distanced tours of the new space are now underway, according to membership Director, Gina Kohr. Those interested in exploring the JCC’s new membership incentives are encouraged to contact Gina at 717-843-0918 or firstname.lastname@example.org
