York Day Nursery: New marketing hire
York Day Nursery is happy to welcome Kate Harmon to the team as its new marketing and development coordinator. Harmon joins the nonprofit after years in our community's newspapers and nonprofits, most recently having served as the interim executive director of The Parliament Arts Organization.
Harmon will work with YDN's team to implement the nonprofit's strategic plan, foster donor relationships and execute relevant marketing strategies. York Day Nursery continues to foster great beginnings and bright futures in York County children ages birth to five. York Day Nursery, established in 1934, is York’s oldest early childhood education center, offering educational programs for children 6 weeks to 5 years old that are designed around children’s developmental levels and interests. YDN has maintained NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Programs Accreditation since 2003 and attained four-star status — the highest performance level — under the Pennsylvania Keystone STARChild Care Quality Initiative in 2004.
Harmon is a 2017 Graduate of Leadership York's Training Program, for which she now sits on the committee. She is also one of the organizers of What the Food Trucks, the Labor Day Sunday food truck festival that focuses on bringing 20,000 people into the York community. Harmon sits on the YWCA Junior Board and is the marketing chair of 3P Ride. In recognition of her outstanding leadership efforts, Harmon was awarded a 2018 Downtown First Award.
