March 16, 2020
All York County Libraries will be closed from Sunday, March 15 through Sunday, March 29.  This measure is in compliance with a directive from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus.  All library programs previously scheduled during this time period are cancelled.  Current plans are for York County Libraries to reopen on Monday, March 30.
All library materials currently checked out will be automatically renewed until April 15 and no fines will be assessed during the time of closure.  Members are asked to hold onto borrowed materials until the libraries reopen.  During the closure, community members are encouraged to access library eBooks and other digital resources at yorklibraries.org.
“We know how many of you rely on us, and the impact that these closures will have. Our libraries are vital community hubs in every neighborhood of York County. But ensuring the health and well-being of our communities, and the safety of our customers and staff is – and always must be – our top priority," says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “Thank you for your support, understanding, and patience during this difficult time. Now is a critical moment when we must all work together to ensure the well-being of all York County residents and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.”
York County Libraries include 13 libraries that provide the latest in print and electronic information, best sellers, Wi-Fi, story times, book discussions and more.  Their librarians are passionate advocates for lifelong learning, providing opportunities and resources for all ages.
