York College to host live-streamed panel discussion by PA Commission on Judicial Independence on Sep. 23

York College's Department of History and Political Science will host a live-streamed panel discussion organized by the Pennsylvania Commission on Judicial Independence from 10 to 11:15 a.m., Sept. 23, in Weinstock Lecture Hall, Willman Business Center. Judges from all levels of the bench will participate to discuss issues of importance and mutual interest to the courts and Pennsylvania families and organizations. The event is free and open to the public. 
 
As part of its focus on educating the public about the work and the role of the courts, the Pennsylvania Commission on Judicial Independence is holding the panel discussion at the Pennsylvania Judicial Center in Harrisburg. While the main panel of presenters will be located in Harrisburg, the event will be live-streamed to various interested organizations and educational institutions statewide via video web link, including York College of Pennsylvania. The event will be moderated by Terry Madonna, professor at Franklin and Marshall College and host of "Pennsylvania Newsmakers."
 
The Pennsylvania Commission on Judicial Independence was established in 2005 and charged with fostering greater understanding by the public about the role of the judiciary and its value within the American political system. The following jurists will be participating on the panel:
