A generous gift will provide ongoing support for a York College program that annually provides a scholarship to a local student to study the arts at the College. At the direction of the donor, the scholarship has been renamed to honor Dominic DelliCarpini, the dean of the Center for Community Engagement. The DelliCarpini Community Art Scholarship has been awarded this year to Ellen Korver, a senior at York Suburban High School. Korver is active in the visual arts, music and theatre.

The gift supports the continuation of the York Community Arts Scholars Exhibition (YCASE) Program, which includes the DelliCarpini Scholar. In addition to the scholarship program, YCASE provides occasions and events to bring local teacher, students and families together with representatives of York College and York's cultural community to celebrate art in schools and in the community. This includes an annual art walk in downtown York where the work of local students is displayed at various locations and judged. Finalists are chosen for an exhibition in Marketview Arts' Gallery Hall, and prize winners are selected, including the DelliCarpini Community Art Scholar.

"I am honored to have this scholarship carry my name," said DelliCarpini. "Through it, York College is developing new leaders for the arts in York by offering them educational and experiential opportunities."
