YCEA Welcomes New Board Members and Announces Executive Committee Leadership
The York County Economic Alliance (YCEA) is excited to welcome new board members to its Board of Directors in 2021, and announce the leadership of the Executive Committee.
The YCEA Board of Directors will continue to be chaired by William “Bill” T. Yanavitch II, Chief Human Resources Officer for Kinsley Enterprises. Bill is in his second-year of a two-year term.
The YCEA welcomed two newest Board members Grace Quartey and Aneury Perez.
Grace Quartey is a CPA and principal of Grace & Associates with over over 26 years professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her background includes working as a Compliance Auditor for the State of Maryland, a Financial Consultant with Smith Barney in York, PA, serving as a Controller for a Non-Profit Organization on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and as an Accounting Analyst for the County of Accomack. She also co-founded the non-profit Building Solid Foundations to help develop rural Ghana in West Africa.Grace previously served on the board for the York City Business Improvement District Authority (YBIDA). Grace will join the YCEA Board and its Executive Committee, assuming the role of the organization’s Treasurer.
Aneury Perez is the Financial Center Manager with Fulton Bank. Aneury is a graduate of William Penn Senior High School and Penn State York. He started his banking career in Downtown York in 2006, helping individuals and business owners plan for their future. Aneury also serves on the board for the York City Business Improvement District Authority (YBIDA).
“We are grateful to have Grace and Aneury join the YCEA Board of Directors, bringing their expertise, talent, and dedication, to our board,” said Yanavitch. “Both are advocates for small businesses in Downtown York, and York County, and their passion for making things happen is evident.”
In addition to Grace and Aneury joining the Board of Directors, the YCEA’s Executive Committee will change slightly for 2021. Stepping into the role of Vice-Chair of the Board is Jeff Vermeulen, Assistant Vice President for External Relations with York College of Pennsylvania. Jeff has led the YCEA Advocacy Committee since 2018 and was Secretary of the Board since 2016 before stepping into this position. Jeff also leads the College’s economic development initiatives, overseeing the work of the J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and special projects at the direction of the President.
Also joining the Executive Committee is Bev Mackereth, as the Advocacy Chairperson. Bev is in her second year as a Board member for the YCEA, continuing a vast career of public service. She is the owner of Mackereth Consulting and has previously served as the Executive in Residence at Penn State York. Bev also previously served as the PA Secretary of the Department of Human Services under Governor Tom Corbett. She has also previously served as a member of the PA House of Representatives, representing the 196th Legislative District, was the director of the York County’s Human Services Department, and got her start as Mayor of Spring Grove.
“We are honored to welcome this dynamic slate of leadership to our Board of Directors and Executive Committee,” said Kevin Schreiber, President & CEO of the YCEA. “Each brings a unique perspective and set of talents to lead our organization in continuing to Make Things Happen in YoCo, and our Historically Edgy Downtown.”
Finally, the YCEA expressed sincere gratitude to two Board members whose terms of service concluded. Blair Ansell, who recently retired from PNC Bank, and Fred Botterbusch with MANTEC both completed these Board terms with the YCEA. Blair served five years, including three as Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Fred served over six years, focusing on marketing and workforce development, including the first-ever countywide workforce action plan, Pathways to Prosperity, which led to the recently launched www.YoCoPathways.com workforce portal.
