Wetzel Family Medicine Joins UPMC Provider Network 


Wetzel Family Medicine, located at 312 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, will join the UPMC network of providers effective Aug. 1. The new practice name is UPMC Primary Care Gettysburg.  Chris Wetzel, MD, and the staff will remain at their current location.  


“We are excited to have Dr. Wetzel join our team of primary care providers,” said Philip Guarneschelli, FACHE, president, UPMC Pinnacle. “He is committed to the Gettysburg community and is dedicated to providing compassionate, family care.”  

 

Specializing in family medicine, Dr. Wetzel sees patients of all ages and provides disease management for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.  


The addition of UPMC Primary Care Gettysburg expands the UPMC footprint of services in Adams County, which includes:

  • Primary care practices in East Berlin, Littlestown, McSherrystown, and New Oxford
  • UPMC Express Care, imaging services, and lab services in New Oxford
  • Specialty Care services -- cardiology, endocrinology, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic testing located at Commerce Park Professional Center, 20 Expedition Trail, in Gettysburg

 

UPMC Primary Care Gettysburg is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 717-334-9535. Most major insurances are accepted.
