UPMC announced today it has opened an endocrinology practice in York where Xiannian Wu, MD, who has just joined the health system, will see patients. The new UPMC Pinnacle Endocrinology Associates office, located at 510 Greenbriar Road, expands the health system’s services in the York area. UPMC currently has two outpatient endocrinology practices in Hanover and Adams Counties.

“It is important to continue to expand services and recruit new providers so that our communities can benefit from critical endocrinology care without having to travel,” said Philip Guarneschelli, president, UPMC Pinnacle.

UPMC’s specialized team of endocrinologists treat patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary gland disease, osteoporosis, and menopause. In addition, they diagnose and treat a variety of disorders including metabolic, hypertension, cholesterol, obesity, calcium, and parathyroid and lipid disorders.

Dr. Wu is board-certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He recently completed his fellowship in endocrinology from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York City, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine. Dr. Wu earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Wu is currently a member of the Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and American Medical Association.
