Thirty-seven people representing a variety of businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout York County completed Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program (LTP) this year with a graduation ceremony on May 22 at the York Jewish Community Center. This nine-month, experiential course educates participants about York County history and community issues, systems, and services. LTP enhances knowledge of the community, strengthens leadership skills, offers an opportunity to reward and invest in employees and improves retention as they increase their connection and commitment to the community and provides access to additional opportunities for partnerships and new business relationships.
As a component of their participation in the program, the class of 2019 completed seven distinct service projects for area nonprofit organizations. LTP service projects are an opportunity to develop skills in researching community needs, identifying partners for collaboration to maximize impact and efficiency, and bringing together the resources necessary to address a need or problem.
This year’s projects included: Margaret E. Moul Home Crafting a Dream Trip, SPCA of York County Spring Cleaning Indoor/Outdoor, York County Food Bank Ham It Up! Easter Food Drive, 18 South Ministries Bright Lights, Bright Future: A Red Carpet Affair, Family First Health Diaper Drive,
Servants Inc. Home Helps Paint Drive and DreamWrights Dreamin’ of a Party.
