Teens Wanted to Compete in York County Libraries Cupcake Wars

Teens, ages 13 to 18, are invited to show off their creative decorating skills in the Second Annual York County Libraries (YCL) Cupcake Wars. Qualifying rounds will be held at libraries across the county starting Tuesday, June 26.  The contest is free to enter and no supplies are needed. Competition challenges, cupcakes, and decorating materials will all be provided by the libraries. Registration is required.   
The top two competitors from each qualifying round will be invited to compete in the county-wide Cupcake Wars Championship at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 19that the Dover Area Community Center located beside Dover Area Community Library.  A panel of judges will assign a series of decorating challenges and will announce the Cupcake Wars Champion at the close of the event.  
The YCL Cupcake Wars qualifying rounds will be held at the following dates and times:

In addition, teens interested in learning decorating tips can attend a cupcake decorating program at Red Land Community Library from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 30th.  Registration is required to assure adequate supplies.  

SummerQuest is a program that provides opportunities for kids and teens to stay active and keep learning during the summer break.   Thanks to the generous support of sponsors, the York Water Company, Glatfelter, and Wellspan Health, there is no cost to participate in the program.   York County Libraries include 13 libraries that provide the latest in print and electronic information, best sellers, Wi-Fi, story times, book discussions and more.
