Survive and thrive after Cancer with the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program
Do you know someone who has been affected by cancer? With over 12 million cases in our country, many of us have a friend, family member or a spouse who has been diagnosed with cancer. The YMCA of York and York County provides an evidence based program that helps cancer survivors and patients regain their physical and mental strength.
The “LIVESTRONG at the YMCA” program is a FREE 12-week program that supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual strength. Currently, this program is offered at the Bob Hoffman Dover YMCA, Eastern YMCA, The W. Dale Brougher Foundation YMCA, and York YMCA locations. This health and wellness exercise program is conducted in a small group environment that includes individualized attention for each participant. Adult survivors are eligible to join the program during all stages of recovery. This program also serves and embraces the families and caregivers that have been affected by the disease through a free family membership throughout the course of the program.
“The LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is still here for our survivors during COVID. Our instructors are here to make sure we provide a safe and clean environment. For more information about our COVID plan, please contact me.” – Heather Moore – LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Coordinator.
