The Springettsbury Township Board of Supervisors would like to invite the community to the Springettsbury Township Park Amphitheater, 1501 Mount Zion Road in York, for the annual Sounds of Summer Concert Series. Concerts are held Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. June 9 through August 4. The Sounds of Summer is the area’s largest free concert series with 17 exciting performances and a spectacular Independence Day fireworks display on Sunday, July 7.
The concert season begins on Sunday, June 9 with Parrotbeach, the ultimate vacation destination. Parrotbeach features the hardest working Jimmy Buffet tribute band on the circuit today! Join us for an escape from your worries and float away to the sounds of the islands courtesy of Remy, Mojito, Jah, Hurricane Harris and Jax.
The U.S. Navy Sea Chanters join us on Wednesday, June 19. As the U.S. Navy’s official chorus, the ensemble performs a variety of music ranging from traditional choral music, including sea chanteys and patriotic fare, to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music. Under the leadership of Senior Chief Musician Adam Tyler, the Sea Chanters perform for the public throughout the United States.
Join us on Sunday, July 7 to celebrate Independence Day with a performance by The Big House Band, followed by an exciting fireworks display presented by First National Bank. The Big House Band has been rocking the Philadelphia area for over 20 years. With a powerhouse vocal line up featuring Jimi Milligan from NBC’s “The Voice” The Big House Band features a phenomenal touch of sax, a slammin’ rhythm section, and a list of tunes that cover everything from Sinatra to Soul and Rock to Pop. The Big House Band will get you on the dance floor and keep you there!
The concert series concludes on Sunday, August 4 with Point Blank, a group of musicians from the Philadelphia area specializing in the contemporary style of jazz. Point Blank members have toured the world with such artists as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, The Manhattans, The Temptations, The Ray Charles Orchestra, BB King and the U.S. Army Jazz Band.
