York College to launch free youth sports program for Salem Square Community at April 24 women's lacrosse game
 
What: Launch of York College's Salem Square Spartans at women's lacrosse game
 
When: April 24, game against Denison begins at 4 p.m., halftime event at about 4:40 p.m. will feature about 30 Salem Square Spartans on the field
 
Where: Kinsley Field at York College
 
The Hook: York College student-athletes have been working closely with the Center for Community Engagement to bring a free youth sports program to the Salem Square Community and its Championship Community Center in York City. 
 
Salem Square Spartans is a program that strives to use athletics as a leading edge to accomplish the goals of Salem Square Community Association: to improve access to opportunities, inclusion in impactful programs, and empowerment through education, workforce development, and social services.  
 
The foundation of this program has been built by dedicated efforts from Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Jen Muston, Senior Goalie Abby Smith, and Freshman Defender Rachael Huebler.
