New Oxford Holiday Hunt, brought to you by the New Oxford Area Chamber of

Commerce and presenting sponsor Members 1st Federal Credit Union, officially kicks off on Saturday,

December 12. The event features a scavenger hunt, business decorating contest and residential decorating

competition. This is the first year for the event, which is similar to New Oxford Harvest Hunt, held in October.

Holiday Hunt will run through Sunday, December 27.

Community members are invited to pick up a booklet at the New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce or at

participating businesses around town starting the Friday before the event. For the scavenger hunt,

participants will be looking for a hidden snowflake at each of the 27 participating businesses around town. In

an effort to accommodate different comfort levels during the ongoing pandemic, approximately half of the

snowflakes are visible from the outside of businesses and do not require entry to find. For the snowflakes

hidden inside businesses, participants are asked to wear a mask, practice social distancing and respect the

safety guidelines put in place by individual businesses.

Participants will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite decorated businesses and favorite

decorated residences in the 17350 zip code. The residential decorating competition, called Light Up New

Oxford, is an opportunity for the community to show their spirit this holiday season. A guide featuring the

participating residences will be available alongside the Holiday Hunt event booklet at the Chamber office,

participating businesses and at newoxford.org.

This event is free and perfect for families looking for something to do in the absence of many of the annual

holiday events in our area. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the scavenger hunt, business decorating
