Martin Library Participates in 2020 GivingTuesday Movement
“Martin Library continues to be a vital part of the community as it celebrates 85 years of service,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “Like its namesake Milton Martin and his wife Martha, the library is built on a vision that adapts to an ever-spinning world, where our country, county and economy keep changing.” According to Lambert, library staff quickly pivoted to meet the challenges of providing library service during a pandemic. Technology helped fuel the shift and Martin Library increased its online and digital programming to serve families who normally would have walked through the library doors.
Martin Library holds the distinguished honor of being the first library in Pennsylvania to receive the Library of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Library Association. Contributions received during GivingTuesday will support Martin Library's Annual Appeal which has a goal of $50,000. Individuals interested in supporting the library can do so at donate.yorklibraries.org.
