Last March, as the world began navigating the dark times of the pandemic, a shining moment of positivity occurred for a member of the York County Economic Alliance (YCEA) team. Director of Strategic Development, Kim Hogeman, achieved her Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), a globally-recognized project management accomplishment.

To earn this, one must demonstrate their extensive knowledge and mastery of project management concepts, tasks, and techniques that are applicable across virtually any industry and methodology. Individuals that have earned this certification have demonstrated the knowledge and skills needed to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control, and close a project. Earners are able to speak and understand the global language of project management.

Hogeman has been instrumental in projects such as the Harley-Davidson/Eden Road Logistics Center, Marketview Arts, and the historic redevelopment of the Yorktowne Hotel. As project manager, Kim is overseeing one of York County’s largest, most significant economic development projects. Through the Yorktowne project, Kim has developed novel new partnerships, such as establishing with York College of Pennsylvania an experience-based curriculum for hospitality management students.  Additionally, she spearheaded a partnership with the Cultural Alliance to create a Local Artist Inclusion Program to feature throughout the hotel upon its completion, thus investing in our creative economy.

“This is a really big deal for industry professionals, and a next-level achievement for our County. Kim has achieved a professional certification accomplished through dedication, knowledge, and expertise,” said Kevin Schreiber, President and CEO of the YCEA. “The field of economic development and project management does not have as many strong women leaders as it should, and we are incredibly proud of the barriers Kim continues to break in her field, and the value she brings to our organization and our County.”

In addition to the YCEA and affiliated authorities, Kim was recently named to the York County Parks Board of Directors, and is also involved with the York County Rail Trail Authority, Susquehanna Regional Transportation Partnership, Dover Township, Leg Up Farm, White Rose Toastmasters, and Municipal Managers Association.

Kim loves to travel, to cook, and recycle. In that order. For more information....just trust us, she’s awesome.
