House of Hope York, PA is thankful to have received EITC Funds from W. H. Cooke & Co., Inc.  Pictured are Wayne Cooke Jr., Owner of W.H Cooke & Co. and Tammy Ort, Event Coordinator at House of Hope.  The EITC funds provide scholarships for our teens who are in our Hope Academy school program.  BIG THANKS to W.H Cooke & Co.!
House of Hope, which opened its doors in 2012, is a residential program for troubled teenage girls that provides counseling, academic education, life skills education and spiritual guidance. House of Hope is unique in that it engages both the teen and their family in the healing process by requiring parents to participate in the counseling programs and attend parenting classes, combatting community issues that stem from the breakdown of the family unit. The residential home, office and school are located in Glen Rock, PA.
Hope Academy is registered through the Pennsylvania Department of Education and provides teens with a formal education through a self-paced curriculum (ACE) designed to meet their performance levels. House of Hope’s educational program is a key part of the success of the girls that come for help. Many of the girls that come were suffering poor grades and school attendance, requiring individualized educational care. Because of the small group, the Hope Academy is able to provide each student with the attention they need to get them where they need to be and prepare them to be better students in the future.
