Creative York is honored to share Carrie Breschi’s poignant installation exhibit “Home Sweet Home: The Real Face of Homelessness” in The Project Space Gallery at 10 N. Beaver Street, York, PA.

Breschi’s creative process lies at the intersection between art and social engagement and their ability to come together as one movement. In the 2D and 3D installation, “HOME SWEET HOME”, the artist explores the real face of homelessness and community misconceptions surrounding those who struggle to find shelter. Breschi also seeks to dissolve public and private perceptions of the way a gallery should act and look and to transform the space into a deeply meaningful educational experience.

Carrie Breschi holds an B.A. in Studio Art/ English from Denison University and an M.A. in Social Engagement through the Arts from Moore College of Art & Design. A past Executive Director of the Carlisle Arts Learning Center, she currently consults with nonprofit organizations to cultivate and to encourage connectivity, collaboration, shared resources and the cultivation of change through the creative process.

Running concurrently with “Home Sweet Home” is Creative York’s “2019 Member’s Exhibit” in the Kerlin Gallery. An opening reception for both exhibits will be held on Thursday, July 11 from 6-8 pm. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet Carrie Breschi in person at the reception, as well as several artists from the Member’s Exhibit. Bell Socialization will also be on hand with information about resources for the homeless in York City. The two exhibits continue through August 10, with gallery hours Monday through Saturday from 10 am- 2 pm. Admission to the galleries is always free.
