Downtown Inc to Decorate Downtown York with Hanging of the Greens
Downtown Inc, the York County Economic Alliance, and a dedicated group of volunteers will inaugurate the holiday season with the hanging of fresh pine roping and bright red bows throughout Historically Edgy Downtown York as part of the annual Hanging of the Greens on Sunday, November 24 from 10am-12pm.

This much-anticipated yearly event marks the official start to the holiday season in Downtown York as the downtown streets are transformed creating a festive environment for shoppers, visitors, and residents alike.
Over 60 volunteers will meet in historical Continental Square at 10 am to begin the event before dividing up into groups to decorate the three micro districts of Downtown York’s Business Improvement District: Market District, Royal Square District, and the WeCo District.
Thank you to Chas. A. Schaefer Flower Shop, Inc., for donating the red bows that will hang from the 180+ lampposts in historic Downtown York, and the employee family of Wagman Construction in coordination with The Yorktowne Hotel for the cutting and staging of the greens.
Downtown Inc offers a special thank you to Royal Square Development & Construction for providing ladders, the City of York’s Parks Department for its assistance in hanging greens on hard-to-reach poles along bridges within the Downtown, and a host of volunteers including Downtown Inc & YCEA Ambassadors, Downtown Merchants, RKL team members, Women United Steering Committee and RSDC.
