Creative York Promotes Ivy Rodgers to Director of Education
Creative York, a non-profit arts center in downtown York, Pennsylvania focused on inspiring the community through arts education, gallery experiences and outreach programs, is proud to announce the promotion of Ivy Rodgers to director of education.
In her new role, Rodgers will be responsible for developing art curriculum and implementing classes and programs. Additionally, she will manage class registrations, teaching artist staff and art supply inventory to ensure the smooth operation of all educational activities offered by the organization.
“We are proud to promote Ivy and look forward to how her knowledge of the arts and fresh ideas will enhance our educational programs,” said Mindy Christian, executive director of Creative York. “Her professional experience and passion for the arts will greatly benefit not only our team, but our community who looks to us for a variety of art education opportunities, such as painting classes, drawing workshops, ceramics lessons and more!”
Prior to her promotion, Rodgers served as program coordinator, where she was responsible for overseeing and planning the organization’s community outreach events. She has also served as a teaching artist and gallery volunteer at Creative York.
Rodgers received her BA in Fine Art with a minor in Art History from York College of Pennsylvania. In addition to her education, she has been recognized throughout Central PA for her work. Ivy Rodgers: Year of Self, An Exhibition was featured at Marketview Arts in York, PA. Rodgers’ exhibition, millennial renaissance: works by Ivy Rodgers, was showcased at Prince Street Café in Lancaster, PA. Her work has also been featured at the Red Carpet Soiree in Harrisburg, PA. In addition to formal exhibitions, Rodgers has painted murals in multiple downtown restaurants and storefronts. She currently has an art studio at The Grotto Community Center where she created the COVID-19 related installation entitled the Individuals Project.
