Creative York Announces Juried Exhibit Artists

Creative York is proud to partner with York City Special Events for the 2019 Yorkfest Adult Juried Art Exhibition, sponsored by Glatfelter Insurance. This year’s Juror is Lauren Nye, Director of Exhibitions at the Susquehanna Art Museum (SAM) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.Works by the following artists were selected from more than 150 artwork submissions: Pamela J. Black (Dillsburg, PA), Ashley Moog Bowlsbey (Windsor, PA), Lauren Delk (Mechanicsburg, PA), Ellen Engdahl Ehlenbeck (York, PA), Paul Gallo (Middletown, PA), Judeth Pekala Hawkins (Airville, PA), Christine Mercer-Vernon (York, PA), Mary Moores (Abbottstown, PA), Carol Oldenburg (York, PA), Cynthia R. Owens (York, PA), Troy Patterson (York, PA), Elaina Posey (Lancaster, PA), Doug Puller (Red Lion, PA), Suzanne Rende (York, PA), Julie Riker (Camp Hill, PA), Clifton Santiago (York, PA), Patricia Tomes (Dover, PA), Gerald S. Van Scyoc (Steubenville, OH), Autumn Wright (Hellam, PA).
 
An Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Creative York Galleries at 10 N. Beaver Street on Friday, August 23 from 6-8 pm as the kick-off to a full weekend of exciting Yorkfest Fine Arts Festival events. Artist Awards will be announced at 6:30 pm, followed by the winners of the Yorkfest Adult Literary Competition at 7 pm. Cash awards totaling $1,000 will be presented by the juror. One Best of Show prize of $500 will be awarded and up to five Awards of Distinction will be granted by the sole and final decision of the juror.
 
Running concurrently with the Yorkfest Adult Juried Exhibit is “The Last Free Summer” in the Project Space, an installation by Abigail Wilson-Kageni. The two exhibits continue through August 10, with gallery hours Monday through Saturday from 10 am- 2 pm. Admission to the galleries is always free.
 
Creative York is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the arts as a central part of the community through its outreach programs, arts education, and free art gallery exhibits.
