Community Progress Council CEO Robin Rohrbaugh elected for statewide Community Action Board of Directors

York, Pennsylvania – Nov. 15, 2022

Community Progress Council is pleased to share that President/CEO Robin K. Rohrbaugh has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania (CAAP). CAAP works to strengthen, advocate for, and empower the Pennsylvania network of 42 community action agencies, including Community Progress Council.

Rohrbaugh joins 15 fellow leaders in the Commonwealth in providing oversight and strategic direction for CAAP’s work in advocacy, education, technical assistance, news, and networking for Community Action in the Commonwealth.

“The expertise and knowledge that the network of Community Action Agencies in Pennsylvania represent is spectacular,” said Beck Moore, CEO, CAAP. “This group of agency leaders represents a diverse cross-section of agencies who will be the voice for their counterparts across the state and usher in the next strategic chapter of our association.”

Rohrbaugh was appointed President and CEO of Community Progress Council, York County’s community action agency, in 2013, after working for York County Human Services Department for 12 years and serving as the executive director of the Healthy York County Coalition for 8 years.

“Helping people to move out of poverty is extremely challenging work,” said Rohrbaugh. “I am honored to play a role in building our state association into the “go to” source in Pennsylvania for expertise, innovation, and impact on advancing self-sufficiency for residents.  With strong leadership from our state association and aligned commitment from the membership, community action agencies in the state can and will become the organizations that private funding sources seek out to address the root causes of poverty.”

Rohrbaugh is a lifelong York County resident. She is currently serving her second term on the board of directors for the York County Economic Alliance, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the White Rose Leadership Institute, Planned Parenthood of Central PA, and the Jewish Community Center in York. She is a York Federal Fellow and a graduate of Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program and Non-Profit Leadership Academy. In 2020, she was named a “Woman of Influence” by the Central Penn Business Journal.
